About this board game
Qwixx Duel is a two-player dice game that takes about 15 minutes, challenging opponents to build the highest score on a shared score board.
Like Qwixx, the game revolves around rolling colored dice and matching the results to fill out a score sheet. The goal is to make smart placements that maximize the points earned by your stones at the end of the game.
Unlike the original game, however, only the active player may use the results of a roll. Both players progress on the same board, marking their positions with stones in their own player color. This shared space creates a direct contest throughout the game.
- Designed specifically for two players
- Uses colored dice and a shared score board
- Features stones that may be bumped by the opposing player
- Includes stones that can become permanently locked
Timing and positioning are central to the duel. In some situations, one player can bump an opponent’s stone out of its position, while other stones become locked permanently and cannot be displaced. These rules give Qwixx Duel a higher level of player interaction than Qwixx.
At the end of the game, players calculate their scores according to the placement of their stones. The player with the most points wins. Released in 2016, Qwixx Duel offers the familiar dice-and-score-sheet foundation of Qwixx with a more confrontational shared-board experience.
