About this board game

Raging Bulls is a 30-minute solitaire roll-and-write game for one player, in which you draw fences to enclose and separate randomly placed bulls in a field.

Your task is to keep the bulls apart and prevent brawling. Each turn, three regular dice help determine possible starting and finishing points, or fence posts, for your next straight line. Choosing where to build is only part of the challenge: you must also think ahead and plan for the fences that may follow.

The game combines spatial planning with a push-your-luck decision. You may risk losing a life, represented by a mallet, by attempting the final fence needed to complete a field. Alternatively, you can move on to the next field, accepting a lower score rather than taking the risk.

  • Solo play for one player
  • Approximately 30 minutes to play
  • Four fields with increasing difficulty
  • Dice-driven fence-post choices
  • Push-your-luck decisions involving lives and scoring

Raging Bulls is designed as a compact print-and-play experience. The game requires only one printed page, one page of rules, three regular dice, a pen or pencil, and something suitable for drawing straight lines. A low-ink black version is also available.

Created as an entry for the 2017 Solitaire PnP Design Contest, Raging Bulls offers a focused puzzle in which every fence placement matters. Balance immediate progress against future options, decide when to stop, and try to manage each field without letting the bulls come together.
