About this board game

Reforest: Old Growth is a forest-building board game for 1–4 players, with games lasting about 60 minutes. Play it as a standalone experience or combine it with Reforest: Plants of the Pacific Northwest Coast.

Players compete to grow the healthiest forest by arranging a synergistic tableau of plants. Each plant has its own traits and abilities, creating opportunities to develop a forest whose elements work together.

The game ends when all visitors have found a home. Each player then scores their forest for the value of its plants and for the visitors they host, rewarding both thoughtful growth and the ability to provide suitable homes.

This edition expands the original game with a new set of plants and animal visitors, as well as old-growth trees, parasitic plants, and terrain modules that alter play. The new elements add different ways to develop your forest and use its existing features.

  • Old-growth trees: Reveal previously covered effects and regenerate stored plants.
  • Parasitic plants: Can be played freely, but feed off existing plants.
  • Terrain cards: Offer growing benefits to your elevation rows.

With its tableau-building focus, visitor objectives, and modular additions, Reforest: Old Growth invites players to plan a forest from humble herbs to towering trees. Decide how to arrange your plants, make use of terrain benefits, and create a healthy habitat before every visitor has found a home.
