About this expansion

Russian Railroads: German Railroads is a 2015 expansion for 1–4 players that adds new ways to play Russian Railroads, with sessions lasting about 120 minutes. The base game is required.

The expansion introduces three independent modules. The Germany game board features new routes and completely different opportunities and strategies. Because distances are not fixed, the available options are more open and can change the flow compared with the standard game.

With the Coal Age module, coal becomes a new resource that can disrupt familiar strategies. Use coal to improve locomotives and factories, or put it to work in new foundries. When fired with coal, these foundries provide a decent income.

Coal can also serve as a heat source, enhancing a locomotive or increasing the effect of a factory. This creates additional decisions as you manage the ways coal can support your railway development and industrial plans.

The Single Ticket module provides a solo version of the game. A dummy opponent occupies different spots and attempts to prevent you from achieving a high score, creating a distinct challenge for one player.
