About this board game

RWBY: Combat Ready is a cooperative board game for 2–5 players, with games lasting about 75 minutes. Inspired by Rooster Teeth’s animated web series RWBY, it brings fast-paced battles to the table while keeping every player actively involved.

Each player takes the role of one of the four main heroines: Ruby, Weiss, Blake, or Yang. Every character has a separate deck representing her attacks, actions, and moves, giving each heroine a distinct play style with unique tactics and strategies.

Players track their character’s key statistics on a Scroll, including Aura, Experience, Battle Fury, and Semblance. These elements help represent each heroine’s progress and signature abilities throughout the game.

Before each game, the group selects a scenario from the scenario book. Scenarios may include one or more battles, and each battle pits the players against a particular Villain while introducing its own rules and possible objectives.

Because the scenarios and battle conditions vary, no two battles are ever the same. Whether coordinating attacks, using character-specific tactics, or working toward an objective, players remain engaged together throughout the action.
