About this board game

Shardhunters is a 2019 card game for 1–4 players, with games lasting about 20 minutes. Set in a gloomy version of 17th-century Europe, it challenges players to gather rare blood crystals while facing the dangers of the wilderness.

The world of Unseen Domains has been transformed by a witchplague: infected people return as zombies after death. Yet zombies are not the only threat. Werewolves and bandits also stand between fearless shardhunters and the valuable crystals they seek.

Players spend blood crystals to hire adventurers from the tavern deck. Every hero has a unique skill, and combining different heroes can help gather even more crystals. Building and organizing an effective team is central to turning each expedition into a successful quest.

• Recruit adventurers from the tavern deck using blood crystals.
• Study monster cards by their two attributes: value and colour.
• Battle simultaneously during rapid quest rounds with nonstop action.

During encounters, players receive cards from the monster deck and must learn how their values and colours can shape the battle. Everyone plays monsters at the same time during the battle rounds, keeping players involved rather than leaving anyone waiting for a turn.

The clashes between heroes and creatures are rapid and almost unrepeatable. Luck plays a part, but good tactics and understanding your opponent are key to success. In Shardhunters, every decision helps determine whether your adventurers return with more blood crystals or fall short of their goal.

The game ends when a player has seven adventurers and then completes a successful quest. Gather crystals, assemble your strongest group of heroes, and lead your team to victory over the opposition.
