About this board game

Sherlock: El mayordomo is a cooperative mystery game for 1-8 players, with a playing time of about 60 minutes. Your team of detectives must investigate the mysterious death of a famous butler in Milwaukee and determine what happened.

Each case contains 32 clue cards. Players take turns revealing information by choosing a card from their hand and placing it on the table for everyone to read or see. Reading shared information aloud is recommended, while theories and discussion can be offered at any moment.

Not every clue is relevant. Revealing an irrelevant card can cost points at the end of the game, while other clues may be vital to solving the case. Players may discuss cards in their hands, but they cannot show them to the others; they may only read aloud words written in bold or text framed inside an image.

  • Reveal clues one at a time, or discard them, until all cards have been handled.
  • Share theories and connect the available information as a team.
  • Work through a final questionnaire, earning two points for every correct answer.

Once every clue has been revealed or discarded, the investigation enters its final phase. The team can examine all available information, freely discuss discarded cards and remembered details, and prepare a complete theory of the case before answering the questionnaire.

With its focus on discussion, deduction, and carefully evaluating every piece of evidence, Sherlock: El mayordomo challenges players to decide whether the Milwaukee butler’s death was suicide or murder and to explain the events behind it.
