About this board game

Six is an abstract strategy game for 2–4 players that takes about 20 minutes to play. Players take turns placing colored hexagonal tiles while trying to create a winning shape from six of their own tiles.

The objective is focused and easy to recognize: complete a triangle, hexagon, or line using six tiles. Every placement contributes to your developing position while also shaping the shared arrangement on the playing surface.

  • Three winning shapes: triangle, hexagon, and line
  • Colored hexagonal tiles for each player
  • Standard and advanced rules
  • Designed for 2–4 players

If all tiles have been placed from the players’ hands without a winner, the game changes pace. Players then take turns picking up a previously placed tile and moving it to a new position, creating another route toward one of the winning shapes.

The advanced rules add a further way to win. A player may move a tile in a way that separates all the tiles into two or more groups; when this happens, some pieces are removed from the game. This can lead to victory by reducing the opponent to five or fewer pieces, since they can no longer form a winning shape with six tiles.

Released in 2003, Six combines a compact ruleset with multiple ways to pursue victory. Its three clearly defined shapes and optional advanced separation rule give each game a direct strategic focus while allowing the endgame to develop through tile movement.
