About this board game

Spokes is a fast-paced cycling game for 1–6 players, with games lasting around 45 minutes. Players create and change cycle paths by swapping spokes between their wheels and the track, then race to complete three laps.

On each turn, choose a spoke from your wheel and exchange it for a spoke on the track. You then travel along a contiguously colored track that contains the spoke you placed. Every swap can open new possibilities or alter the routes available to everyone, making the shared course dynamic from turn to turn.

As the game develops, players build, share, and dismantle routes while managing the spokes at their disposal. Efficient selection is essential: the best route may depend on the spokes currently in your wheel, the changing track, and the choices made by the other players.

Players can also draft other bikes and use reserved energy to pull ahead at carefully chosen moments. Sitting behind another player, using their route, and overtaking at the last minute capture the excitement and tactics of cycling.

With team, multi-bike, and solo variants included, Spokes offers several ways to approach its changing routes and spoke management. The result is a fluid race where each exchange can reshape the course and influence the final push for victory.
