About this board game

Sternenhimmel is a board game for 3–5 players that takes about 30 minutes to play. Each player competes for control of constellations, with the constellations providing victory points.

The game features 12 constellations, creating a shared field of targets for the players to contest. To seek control, players use Stars to bid. Every star contributes some amount of control over the constellation it is used on, making each star part of the struggle for valuable scoring opportunities.

Not every star is ordinary. A Double star and a Black Hole star are included in the mix, adding distinctive elements to the available bids. These special stars stand alongside the regular Stars as players compete for influence over the constellations.

Bluffing is an important part of the experience. Some of your stars may be placed face up or face down, so the information presented to the other players is not always complete. That hidden element gives the bidding a layer of uncertainty as everyone tries to assess the contest for each constellation.

Released in 1995, Sternenhimmel combines constellation control, star-based bidding, special star effects, and concealed information in a compact game for a small group.
