About this board game

TacTiki is an abstract strategy game for 2 players that plays in about 30 minutes, challenging you to cross a mysterious 5×5 island and build a statue from five of your pieces.

Each player begins on an opposing start row, with the remaining spaces forming the battlefield. Move your pieces toward your opponent’s side, but plan carefully: pieces can travel one space forward, left, or right, never backward or diagonally.

Every turn gives you two moves. Move one piece twice, or move two different pieces once each. When a piece enters an occupied space, it is placed directly on top of the existing stack, creating columns that affect movement and positioning.

• Hidden strengths: Keep your piece’s value concealed until a battle begins.
• Tactical battles: When you enter a space containing an opposing piece, both pieces reveal their strength. The weaker piece is removed.
• Stacking and blocking: In a tie, both pieces remain, but only the top piece can move, blocking the opponent.
• Reincarnation: Bring a defeated piece back into play instead of focusing only on movement.

A piece that reaches an opponent’s start field becomes fixed there and cannot be moved by either player or any opposing action. This makes every advance a lasting commitment as you prepare your final formation.

In TacTiki, tactics, memory, and planning work together. Be the first player to assemble a TAC or TIKI statue of five pieces on a single opponent start field to win.
