About this board game

Tem-Purr-A is an eating-contest card game for 3–10 players that takes about 15 minutes to play. Set in a Taiwanese snackbar, it challenges competitors to build an enormous shared order while trying to make someone else eat it.

On your turn, add a dish card or a special card to the common order pile. Keep the order growing, but watch your options carefully: when a player cannot—or does not want to—add another card, that player must eat the entire order.

Eating means drawing the appropriate number of cards from the draw pile. If one or more of those cards is a “No More!” card, the eater receives negative points and the round ends. The cards played during the round are then set aside, while new “No More!” cards are shuffled into the smaller draw pile.

  • Build a shared order with dish and special cards.
  • Force competitors to take on an increasingly difficult order.
  • Draw from the shrinking pile and avoid “No More!” cards.
  • Finish with the fewest negative points.

As the contest progresses, the draw pile becomes more dangerous, creating an increasingly tense challenge in the later stages. Clever card play can keep the pressure on your opponents, but pushing the order too far may leave you responsible for eating it yourself.

The game ends when one player has collected three negative points. The player with the smallest amount of negative points wins, claiming the snack bar throne. Released in 2011, Tem-Purr-A offers a compact contest of risk, timing, and shared-order manipulation.
