About this expansion

Ticket to Ride Map Collection 6: France & Old West is a double-sided expansion for 2–6 players, with games lasting about 90 minutes. One side takes you across France, while the other explores the western half of the United States, and each map introduces a distinct twist on claiming railway routes.

In France, 2–5 players collect train cards and complete tickets, but most track beds begin without colors. Whenever you draw cards, you must also choose a colored tile measuring two to five train cars and place it on an empty track bed. Players can then claim that route by discarding cards of the matching color.

  • Overlapping track beds can make crossed spaces unavailable once a tile is placed.
  • Single-length routes are already colored.
  • Gray ferry routes add another route type to the map.
  • End-game bonuses reward the longest continuous route and the most completed tickets.

On the Old West map, 2–6 players begin by choosing starting locations in reverse player order for one of their three city pieces. Your first route must use that city as an endpoint, and every later route must connect to your existing network. After claiming a route, you may place a remaining city at either endpoint by discarding a matching pair of train cards.

City ownership changes how points are awarded: when a route connects to another player’s city, that city’s owner scores the route points. If both endpoints contain cities, both owners score. The player who completes the most tickets receives a 15-point bonus.

Ticket to Ride Map Collection 6: France & Old West also includes an Alvin the Alien variant. Roswell cannot be a starting location, and players pass Alvin between controlled cities by connecting to them, earning 10 points along the way; whoever controls Alvin at the end scores 10 additional points.
