About this board game

Tiger Leader is a single-player World War II tactical campaign game for 1 player, with missions that take about 60 minutes to play. You command a German Kampfgruppe of tanks, armored cars, trucks, halftracks, supporting infantry, and possible air and heavy weapons support.

Plan each mission carefully by selecting vehicles, infantry, and commanders. Commanders have different skill levels and personality quirks, including how well they keep their heads under fire. Every mission brings difficult choices: rely on experienced leaders and crews while risking fatigue, or give newer personnel valuable experience for battles ahead.

Combat uses an area movement system designed to resolve missions quickly while retaining tactical tension. Randomly generated terrain cards and double-sided terrain tiles create battlefields ranging from cities and farmland to snowy forests, hills, sand dunes, and oases. A fog of war system keeps enemy forces uncertain until you have a clear line of sight.

Enemy tanks, trucks, infantry, anti-tank guns, and squads appear as individual counters on the battlefield. After combat, you can rest and refit your forces, while new technology lets you replace obsolete vehicles with more powerful designs such as the Tiger, Panther, and King Tiger. Commanders and crews also progress through experience levels from Newbie and Green to Average, Skilled, Veteran, and Ace.

Nine historical campaigns can be played separately or linked into one extended campaign spanning the European war:

• Invasion of Russia, 1941
• Fight for Italy and Russia, 1943
• Days of D-Day, 1944
• Final Days in Berlin, 1945

With its mission planning, evolving commanders, variable battlefields, and campaign progression, Tiger Leader offers a focused solo command experience for players familiar with the Leader series.
