About this expansion

Vexation is a railroad network game for 2–6 players, with play sessions lasting around 30 minutes. A large, shared system of railroad tracks develops across the continent as players interact with the same expanding network.

That shared network creates opportunities for players to use routes established by others. When another player blatantly exploits your own routes, Vexation gives you a way to put a stop to that from time to time, adding a direct point of interaction to the developing railroad landscape.

The game is designed as an expansion for TransAmerica and TransEuropa. It is bundled with the 2009 editions of both games, as well as the 2019 edition of TransAmerica & Japan.

  • Players: 2–6
  • Play time: approximately 30 minutes
  • Release year: 2007
  • Expands: TransAmerica and TransEuropa

Vexation focuses on the tension created by a shared continental railroad network. As tracks develop, the routes available to the group can also become useful to individual players, making the timing of intervention an important part of the experience.

For players familiar with its related railroad games, Vexation adds a focused way to respond when shared routes are used too freely. Its compact play time and support for up to six players make it a concise addition to the TransAmerica and TransEuropa family.
