About this board game
Ultimate Werewolf: Extreme is a deception and deduction game for 3–25 players, with games lasting about 60 minutes. Players use their wits to uncover deception and determine who among them is secretly a werewolf, while a moderator runs the game.
The game builds on traditional werewolf play with a large selection of roles and a revised approach to balancing. Each card provides useful information, including its team, traditional balance value, information value, moderator difficulty, wake order, wake frequency, game-length impact, and special considerations.
A free moderator-assisting app helps configure and run games. Its deck configuration tool can create a deck according to settings such as player count, moderator difficulty, information value, or traditional role balance. The app is not required, but it can make moderating much easier.
- Automatically scan player names, faces, and roles using micro QR code technology.
- Track players who are still in the game and organize nighttime actions.
- Provide a timer, turn order, and additional moderator features.
- Support up to three simultaneous games with the cards included in the base game.
Ultimate Werewolf: Extreme also includes optional rules that can make the experience more challenging. These include invisible Lycans, alternate nominees, celebrations after a werewolf is eliminated that reduce village abilities, and elected judges who decide whether a nominated player is eliminated.
Although a moderator still monitors the game and the app, much of the bookkeeping and role interaction management can happen automatically. The result is a flexible werewolf experience designed for different group sizes, role combinations, and levels of moderating difficulty.
