About this expansion

Valeria: Card Kingdoms – Expansion Pack #01: King’s Guard is a 2016 expansion for 1–5 players, with a play time of 45 minutes. It adds the King’s Guard as Citizens and introduces Event cards to the game.

During an Event in the game, the six King’s Guard cards can be added to the center stacks as Citizens. This expansion also introduces five unique Event cards, each identified by an Exhausted back.

The Event cards are shuffled together with the regular Exhausted cards. Whenever you exhaust a stack, there is a 50/50 chance of encountering an Event instead. Most Events are good, although some are a little bad, creating an uncertain moment whenever a stack is exhausted.

King’s Guard adds its new cards directly to the existing card flow, making the contents of exhausted stacks less predictable. The result is a focused expansion that combines new Citizens with a small set of varied Events for Valeria: Card Kingdoms.

The expansion includes:

• 2 Dividers

With its mix of Citizen cards and Event cards, King’s Guard gives players a concise way to expand the card pool while preserving the uncertainty created by exhausted stacks. It is designed for games of Valeria: Card Kingdoms played by 1–5 players.
