About this board game

Vampire: Prince of the City is a strategic board game for 2–5 players that takes about 180 minutes to play. Each player represents a different clan from Vampire: The Requiem, competing to become the city’s new Prince after the former ruler’s death.

Victory goes to the Kindred who earns the most Prestige. Players gain Prestige by controlling areas of the board representing mortal Influence, with different zones offering different levels of importance. Events and Strategies can provide further advantages, while being outmaneuvered may cost Prestige and leave a player Notorious.

Power in the city depends on more than territory. Influence, Resources, Strategy, and Blood all serve as valuable currencies and bargaining chips. Blood is gradually used up as the game progresses, and it can also activate Discipline powers, forcing players to weigh their immediate ambitions against their long-term position.

  • Control zones of mortal Influence to build Prestige.
  • Resolve Events and implement Strategies for changing advantages.
  • Acquire Resources and Challenge opponents directly.
  • Negotiate deals, form alliances, and break agreements when the moment is right.

Diplomacy, tactics, strategy, and guile all matter as the Primogen maneuver for supremacy. Optional and advanced rules add further strategy and replay value for experienced players.

Vampire: Prince of the City includes a full-color city board, a rulebook, a deck of Event, Resource, and Strategy cards, five 10-sided dice, five miniatures, and assorted counters and tokens. Its moderate complexity and lengthy play time make it a substantial contest for control of the Kindred world.
