About this board game

Viva Pamplona! is a dice-intensive board game for 2–6 players, with a playing time of about 45 minutes, in which teams of three runners compete in the running of the bulls.

Set in Pamplona, Spain, the game challenges each player to guide their runners through the race while managing their positions in relation to Toro. The aim is to keep your team in front of and as close to the bull as possible, while pushing opposing runners into more cowardly locations.

Dice rolls determine movement, but players still face meaningful choices during their turns. The key decisions are which runners to move and how far to move them when a choice is available.

• Control a team of three runners.
• Use dice rolls to move through the running of the bulls.
• Position runners near the bull while displacing rivals.
• Prepare for Toro’s possible attack after all players have taken their turns.

Once every player has completed a turn, there is a chance that Toro will attack. The runners in the most dangerous positions score the most points, making placement throughout the round especially important.

Released in 1992, Viva Pamplona! combines simple movement choices with the hazards of staying close to the bull. With room for up to six players, it presents a focused contest of dice-driven movement, positioning, and danger.
