About this board game
Way of the Samurai is a solo card game for one player, playable in around 20–30 minutes, in which you take the role of the famous swordsman Miyamoto Musashi and face epic battles.
Each game unfolds over several rounds, with two attacks available in every round. To make an attack, play a sequence of three action cards. These cards let you gain strength, technique, or guard, giving you meaningful choices as you decide how to approach each confrontation.
Will you attack your opponent directly, distract him, or protect yourself? Way of the Samurai combines strategy, risk-taking, deck building, and card combinations in a streamlined system with simple, fluid mechanics.
- Solo play for one player
- Two attacks per round

Ki tokens add another strategic layer. Spending them allows you to develop skills that may make the difference during an attack. Depending on the choices you make, you can also create combos that unlock special action cards and expand your tactical options.
The game offers several different opponents, along with a competition mode inspired by Musashi’s legendary endurance. In this mode, you attempt to defeat dozens of samurai during one memorable fight.
With extremely fast setup, high replay value, and games that can vary from one to 30 minutes, the game is easy to bring to the table. It comes in a compact, portable box, features no text on the cards, and includes rules in English and French.
