About this expansion

Treasure Chest is a 2009 expansion box for 2–6 players, with a listed play time of 75 minutes. Created to celebrate alea’s 10th anniversary, it brings together a wide selection of additions for six alea games.

The box is a medium-sized collection containing ten expansions. Its contents add new buildings, cards, events, player materials, abilities, amulets, and other game elements across a range of titles.

• Puerto Rico: new buildings.
• San Juan: new buildings and event cards.
• Notre Dame: nine new cards.
• In the Year of the Dragon: new events and material for building the Chinese wall.
• Witch’s Brew: material for a sixth player, magical abilities, and amulets. These three items are combined as The 6th Player & The Amulets & The Magical Abilities.
• Louis XIV: a new table.

The English edition published by Rio Grande Games includes two additional items for The Princes of Florence: the Princess and the Muse expansion and a two-player expansion. This makes the English release distinct from the version released in Germany in April 2009.

Treasure Chest offers a convenient way to gather official expansion material for several well-known alea games in one package. Whether adding new buildings to Puerto Rico and San Juan, expanding Witch’s Brew with new options, or introducing more content to The Princes of Florence, the collection brings together a broad assortment of additions for existing games.
