About this board game

Wizardry to the Power of Three is a cooperative memory game for 2–6 players, with sessions lasting about 30 minutes. Players take the roles of wizard students trying to return to school before Willy the Warden Ghost catches one of them.

It is long past bedtime, but the students have sneaked out of the wizards’ school to visit the secret midnight market. They want to see the flying brooms and talking cats they have heard the grown-ups describe. While crossing the nearby forest, however, Willy takes up their trail, forcing them to double back quickly or face detention.

The forest is too dark for the students to find their way alone. Their hope lies with the Lumies, magical glowing creatures that live among the trees and can light the path back to school. The players must stick together, search for the Lumies, and keep moving before the Warden Ghost catches up.

During the escape, everyone needs to remember the positions of the tree tiles and make thoughtful use of the resources available. Magic potions and dice enchantments can help at the right moment, but the team must decide when to use them as the danger grows.

  • Cooperative play for 2–6 players
