About this expansion

Wonderland’s War: Shards of Madness is a 2023 expansion for 2–5 players, with a listed play time of 125 minutes. It brings corrupted shards, new Wonderlandian cards, additional quests, and a special reward for the starting battle.

The expansion’s all-new 35-card set focuses on making Shards a more dynamic resource during the War phase. New Wonderlandian cards let players risk gaining more Shards for powerful boosts, discover new ways to discard them, or give them to other players. The contest for the extra Madness chip at the end of the next Tea Party can now begin during the War phase.

Shards of Madness also introduces two new quest types. Leader quests can be completed in any region as long as your Leader is present, while double Feat quests offer two feats to complete. Together, these quests create more ways to score questing points and provide reasons to enter the fray in different regions.

The Entombed Sword now does more than mark the location of the starting battle. Its double-sided card grants a strong bonus to that battle’s winner, adding extra weight to decisions about where to send supporters and which battles to pursue each round.
