About this board game

Voll verplant is a subway-network drawing game for 1–6 players, with plays lasting about 60 minutes. Each player fills in a personal map by adding Xs and numbers to station spaces while making difficult choices about which lines to develop.

The game includes maps of Amsterdam, Berlin, Paris, and Madrid. Amsterdam and Berlin are recommended for new players. Every map features an interwoven subway system made up of multiple lines, each with indicator boxes, station spaces, and two possible completion bonuses.

On each turn, reveal the next card from the fourteen-card deck. All players then simultaneously choose a subway line and resolve the card. Number cards let you fill indicator boxes and draw Xs along the chosen line, while circled numbers allow you to skip over stations that already contain Xs.

• Star cards: Add a star to an indicator box, then write a number based on how many lines cross the nearest empty station.
• Circle cards: Draw an X in any empty station space.
• Route bonuses: Complete a line to claim its larger bonus before other players, while later completions may earn the smaller bonus.

When a player reaches the final space of a subway line, they announce the completion and score the appropriate bonus. Multiple players can complete the same line and score its bonus on one turn, creating a race across the shared card sequence.

The game ends when all indicator boxes are filled. Players total points from completed lines and numbered spaces, then lose points for empty stations remaining on their sheet. In Voll verplant, planning intersections, timing route completions, and minimizing unfinished spaces are all essential to achieving the highest score.
