Detective: A Modern Crime Board Game – Season One is a fully cooperative crime-solving game for 1–5 players, with a listed play time of 120 minutes. It offers three standalone cases, each designed to be played in around 90 minutes.

Players take on the roles of investigators and work together to solve each crime. With simpler, family-friendly rules and a shorter playing time than other games in the award-winning Detective line, Season One is designed for a focused mystery game night.

• Solid Alibi: Enter an Italian district caught in a bloody conflict between gangs and criminals. Investigate who killed Robert Parkson while deciding who to trust amid rising tension, violence, and mutual accusations.
• Natural Causes: Explore a U.S. university campus after Professor Calvin Higgs is found dead in his laboratory at the Biology Institute of Virginia University. Determine whether his death was natural or whether someone around him was responsible—and uncover the possible motive.

Each case presents a different setting and style, giving the game a varied collection of mysteries to investigate. The scenarios can be played as separate stories, making it easy to bring Detective: Season One to the table for individual sessions.
