About this board game

Unexpected Treasures is a board game for 3–6 players that takes about 30 minutes to play. You search a bulk waste collection site for old furniture, hoping to turn discarded pieces into profit.

The collection site is first come, first served. Players must act quickly to claim the most appealing furniture before someone else gets there first. Once you have collected pieces, your aim is to sell them to paying customers.

There is an important limit on every trip: you can take only a few items home at a time. That restriction makes each choice matter as you decide which finds are worth collecting and which may need to be left behind.

Your home is not completely safe, either. A thief is out on the prowl, waiting for an opportunity to steal the goods you have collected. You therefore need to balance the desire to gather valuable furniture with the danger of holding onto it.

It offers a compact contest for players who enjoy turning overlooked objects into profit while watching out for unexpected loss.
