About this board game
We Must Tell the Emperor: The Great Pacific War, 1941 to 1945 is a solitaire board game for one player, designed to play in about 60 minutes. As Japan’s military and political leader, you must push the Allied Fronts away from the Home Islands while securing the resources needed to sustain your Empire.
Headline cards drive the unfolding conflict, presenting enemy offensives and constant resource crises. You will need to manage precious Oil, protect government Prestige, and respond to the changing course of the war. If victory cannot be achieved early, growing Allied strength brings an increasingly powerful assault that will test your skill, nerve, and luck.
A distinctive addition to the States of Siege™ series is the Battle Table. It gives you the option to try to change the course of history at important locations including the Coral Sea, Midway, Santa Cruz, and Iwo Jima. The Guadalcanal Campaign may occur, but it is not assured, while China plays a pivotal role in the wider conflict.
- Launch Kamikazes and endure marauding Allied submarines.
- Rely on island fortifications to help stem the Allied advance.
- Use the Battle Table to influence major historical battles.
- Manage the pressure of resources, offensives, and headline events.
Each game turn represents a variable number of weeks, while each unit represents one Allied Front. With 48 Headline cards, a mounted 11-by-17-inch map, and detailed designer’s notes, We Must Tell the Emperor presents a focused Pacific Theater experience in the States of Siege™ series.
