About this board game

Rebel Fury is a Civil War battle game for 1–2 players, with games lasting about 120 minutes. As an army commander, you maneuver infantry and cavalry divisions, seek out enemy flanks, concentrate forces for attacks, and decide where to commit your artillery.

Part of the Civil War Heritage Series, Rebel Fury uses a low-complexity system inspired by the classic SPI Blue and Gray Quad games. Its six featured battles are Chickamauga, Chattanooga, the Wilderness, Spotsylvania, Chancellorsville, and Fredericksburg, which includes solitaire play.

A distinctive Zone of Influence/Zone of Control mechanic shapes how formations operate. Units can move freely in any order and may move multiple times, while their proximity to the enemy naturally shifts them from March formation into Battle formation. This creates a clean way to represent the final approach to combat without limiting the order of movement.

Combat uses a differential system with a focused set of meaningful factors, including unit quality, artillery support, supporting units, and terrain. Artillery duels can produce an occasional Exploding Caisson result, while repeated attack waves capture the back-and-forth character of Civil War engagements.
