About this board game
Siberia is a resource-extraction and trading board game for 2–4 players, with games lasting about 60 minutes. Players exploit the region’s vast resources, organize workers and salesmen, and convert their gains into money.
At the start, two different resources are placed randomly in each Siberian area, while the remaining resources go to their supply spaces. Players receive individual panels and a set of workers and salesmen, while four investment tiles are drawn from a selection of 20 and placed on the board.
Each round has two phases: drawing and placing action counters, then performing actions. Every player draws six counters from the bag and places them on their panel. Most counters show both a resource and a person, while manager counters are separate. When both spaces in a resource or worker column are filled, that action becomes available.
- Research facility: Take designated resources from the supply and place one in an eligible location.
- Worker actions: Place a salesman at a stock exchange, place a worker in Vladivostok, move workers up to three spaces, move a manager, or claim an investment tile.
- Resource actions: Remove a chosen resource from areas where you have workers, then sell it at a stock exchange where you have a salesman.
Investment tiles remain permanently on a player’s panel and keep their matching column half-filled, making that action easier to prepare in future rounds. Players may also retain up to ten action counters between rounds, allowing them to build toward later turns.
Siberia ends after a round in which three of the five resources have no supply remaining or eight areas are completely exhausted. The player with the most money wins.
