About this board game
Lord of the Fries is a restaurant-themed card game for 3–8 players, with an approximate play time of 45 minutes. Released in 1998, it is a thematic sequel to Give Me The Brain!, returning to the same restaurant with the same cast of characters and roughly the same equipment—while offering an entirely different game.
Players choose orders from the figuratively colorful Friedey’s menu, sometimes randomly and sometimes not. The goal is to fill those orders using cards from their hands. Recipes range from straightforward combinations to demanding meals that require careful attention to every ingredient.
- Cowabunga: one Cow Meat and one Bun.
- Chickabunga Conga: Bird Meat, Bun, Fries, and a Drink.
- Patriarch: Fish Meat, Cheese, Bun, Fries, Drink, and Strawberry Pie.
That range gives Lord of the Fries its distinctive challenge. A simple order such as the Cowabunga is easy to understand, while more elaborate requests test your ability to assemble several specific cards. Between those extremes are orders such as the Chickabunga Conga, along with the especially memorable Lord of the Fries and Meat Munch.
With its colorful menu, fast-food setting, and hand of ingredient cards, Lord of the Fries turns familiar restaurant orders into a playful tabletop challenge. Whether an order is chosen randomly or not, every recipe asks you to match the right cards to the meal. It is a flavorful follow-up for players familiar with Give Me The Brain! and a distinctive Friedey’s experience in its own right.
