About this board game

Pirate Tales is a pirate adventure game for 2–4 players, with games lasting about 60 minutes. Released in 2023, it casts each player as a captain planning adventures across the seven seas.

Set out to pass dangerous adventures with the luck of your dice. Upgrade your ship and improve your dice hand as you pursue valuable doubloons and diamonds. Success can make you a richer and more glorious captain, but the high seas are filled with threats.

• Bid at the tavern on another captain’s success or failure.

Cards give you more ways to influence your journey, providing useful additional actions or protection from the dangers of the sea. Even when you are not the active player, you have a role to play: make yourself comfortable in the tavern and bid with the other captains on whether the current adventurer will succeed or fail.

Yet no voyage is entirely safe. The Kraken and other dangers may turn a promising expedition into a perilous one, leaving you to wonder whether fortune will favor your crew. Every adventure brings the possibility of greater rewards—and greater risk.

In Pirate Tales, careful preparation, dice luck, card play, and tavern bidding all shape your quest for glory. Will you return home safely as the richest and most celebrated captain, or will the Kraken be pleased?
