About this board game

Vikings on Board is a family-strategy and worker-placement game for 2–4 players, with approximately 60 minutes of play. Lead your Viking clan toward a successful voyage by helping supply ships, competing for control, and betting on which clans will set sail in command.

Each ship is divided into three sections: the bow, body, and stern. Supplies are placed on the bow, while body pieces are rearranged during the game to determine which clan has majority control. Stern pieces identify ships that have already set sail.

On each turn, the active player chooses one remaining action. The available options include taking first pick of actions in the next round, rearranging ship pieces, placing bets, adding supplies to a ship, increasing the value of supplies in the market, or setting sail.

• Rearrange ship pieces to increase your clan’s control.
• Place bets on the clans you expect to control ships.
• Add supplies to ships and influence their potential value.
• Increase supply values in the market or set a ship sailing.

When a ship sets sail, players share its supplies according to the number of their clan’s shields on that ship’s body pieces. Beginning with the player who has the most shields, players choose a supply token from the bow and place it facedown on their scoring circle. Those tokens score according to their value in the market at the end of the game.

Successful predictions can add even more points. If you bet on the clan with majority control of a ship, you collect the winning bet and place it facedown on your scoring circle. After seven ships have set sail, players total the values of their supply tokens and winning bets. In Vikings on Board, the highest score wins.
