About this board game

Spellbound is a cooperative deck-building game for 1–4 players, designed to be played in about one hour. As a novice mage venturing beyond the tower for the first time, you challenged Baba Yaga—and her spell left you dramatically changed.

Your mission is to recover the Spell de Spiel, hidden in spellbooks scattered throughout the land. Find those books, cast the spell, and banish the witch so you can return to your normal size. Until then, you will have to contend with some unusually large and small parts of your body, including an unfortunate nose and expensive-to-replace shoes.

Baba Yaga is powerful and grows ever stronger, so time is against you. Help may come from the good creatures of the land, including:

• Centaurs ready to gallop
• Dragons able to fly
• A librarian who can research dusty tomes
• Vampires eager to join the action
• Truculent dwarves with axes

But the journey is not without danger. Skeletons and goblin spider-riders stand among the witch’s allies, making the search for the spellbooks even more perilous. Work together to gather what you need, overcome the opposition, and take matters into your own—now quite large—hands.

With its humorous fantasy premise and cooperative deck-building format, Spellbound presents a quest for justice, change, and heroic recognition. It was Fragor Games’ 2012 release, with 1,000 copies available. This is an English-language edition because some cards contain English text; German rules with card translations were to be made available.
