About this board game

Streams is a number-placement game for 1–99 players that plays in about 10 minutes. Each player fills a 20-space scoring line as tiles are drawn, aiming to arrange the numbers in non-descending order and create valuable streams.

The game includes pens, score sheets, and a deck of forty cards—or bakelite tiles, depending on the edition. The tiles are numbered 1–30, with two copies of each number from 11–19 and one wild tile.

Gameplay has a familiar Bingo-like rhythm. One tile is drawn at a time, and everyone writes that number into an empty space on their sheet. Although the spaces may be filled in any order, placement is crucial: numbers that form a non-descending sequence can be counted together, while identical numbers placed side by side do not break a stream.

After twenty tiles have been drawn and all scoring lines are filled, players tally their points. Each stream of non-descending numbers scores according to its length, so longer streams produce more points. The player with the highest total wins.

Streams combines quick simultaneous play with the challenge of deciding where each new number belongs. Every draw must be placed, and the completed line reveals how successfully you built your streams.
