About this board game
Festival is a 20-minute tableau-building game for 2–4 players, released in 2024, in which you create an impressive 3×3 fireworks display and compete for the most points.
Each player has access to two stacks of firework tiles. Tiles feature four colors and four firework designs, giving you opportunities to plan combinations as you build your display. On your turn, take the top tile from either stack and place it in your grid, either on the ground level or on top of an existing stack.
Instead of taking a tile, you may draw an objective card from the top of one of the four central stacks and place it beside your board. At the end of your turn, check whether you have completed any of your objectives or any of the four shared crowd-pleaser tiles. Completed objectives move to the other side of your board, while claimed crowd-pleasers contribute to your final score.
- Build a layered 3×3 fireworks tableau.
- Choose between drafting firework tiles and taking objective cards.
- Complete personal objectives and shared crowd-pleasers.
- Score stacks matching your target color and firework type.
The game ends at the close of the round when a player has completed six objectives or a stack of firework tiles runs out. Final scoring rewards the fireworks visible at the top of your stacks: each tile matching your board’s target color or firework type is worth points equal to the number of tiles in its stack. A tile matching both earns points twice.
In Festival, every placement can shape your final display. Build carefully, pursue the right objectives, and send your fireworks to victorious heights.
