About this board game

Heir to the Pharaoh is a two-player strategy game for a 60-minute contest, released in 2016. Play as Bast or Anubis, competing for the Pharaoh’s affection and the right to inherit his kingdom.

Across eight rounds, use intense card play to shape the ancient Egyptian landscape. Dig your paws into the sand, build majestic Shrines, Sun Temples, and Obelisks, and use Animal Magic to call on the powers of the gods.

The game combines several strategic systems on a spacious, colorfully illustrated board:

• Tile placement and network building as you develop monuments and connect them across the board.
• Bidding and hand management, including the requirement to exchange all used cards with your opponent at the end of each round.
• Set collection and area control as you claim Monument Cards and compete for influence around the board.

Seven god abilities recombine each round according to the favor earned by each player. Ra lets you add a Player Disc to the current Sun for area control. Ptah lets you claim the current Monument Card, while Seshat lets you place the current Monument Standee to expand the monument network.

Geb and Nut allow players to claim and rotate Monument Standees, aiming them at other monuments to score points. The Pharaoh also invites secret contributions to the Pyramid, rewarding the greater contributor with many points at the end of the game.

In Heir to the Pharaoh, every round can reshape the struggle for influence. Complete the Pyramid, score your monuments and collections, and prove that your chosen god deserves the throne.
