About this board game

Aegean Sea is a 60-minute adventure game for 2–5 players, set among the 220 islands of the Aegean Sea.

Every card represents a unique island, and every island has its own game text. Five decks portray the Athenians, Spartans, Cretans, Rhodians, and Ephesians, giving the game a rich collection of distinct locations to explore.

Islands are placed face-up in the center of the table. Other cards can be tucked beneath an island’s left, top, right, or bottom edge to represent the boats, temples, goods, and populace occupying it.

• Boats transport goods across the Aegean.
• Population helps you gain plurality at islands, allowing you to take goods and use their effects.
• Temples with goods let you draw more cards when you refresh your hand.
• Goods are worth points toward victory.

Your ultimate goal is to acquire goods and return them to your home island, but every opponent is pursuing the same objective. The shifting arrangement of islands and tucked cards creates a shared landscape where control, movement, and card effects all matter.

Use each island and its inhabitants wisely, choosing when to transport goods, build your presence, and take advantage of special effects. In Aegean Sea, careful use of your cards can determine who returns home with the most valuable cargo.
