About this board game

Roll’n Bump is a dice-rolling set-collection game for 2–5 players, with games lasting about 20 minutes. Players roll their dice and try to match the hands shown on nine available cards.

On a turn, players can place dice on cards with matching hands in the hope of claiming them. However, an opponent who beats a roll can bump those dice off the card and gain the chance to claim it instead. This creates a direct contest over the cards in play, as every roll can strengthen one player’s position or disrupt another’s.

At the end of the game, players score points for their cards. Additional points are available for collecting cards in each of the game’s four distinctive patterns, making set collection an important part of the final score.

• Dice rolling: Roll dice to pursue the hands displayed on the cards.
• Card claiming: Place matching dice on cards to try to take them.
• Bumping: Beat an opponent’s roll to remove their dice and compete for the card.
• Pattern bonuses: Collect cards across four patterns for extra points.

First released in 2011, Roll’n Bump also has a 2023 version with a reduced maximum player count of five. The newer version keeps the same gameplay and turn sequence while changing the setup to help shorten the game.

For each game, 12 cards are removed from the deck, and 36 cards are evenly distributed into piles according to the number of players. The rest of the rules remain the same, preserving the quick dice contests, card battles, and pattern-based scoring that define the experience.
