About this board game

白と黒でトリテ (Trick-Taking in Black and White) is a 30-minute trick-taking card game for 2–4 players, released in 2021.

The game uses a 36-card deck in which every card shows two suits: black and white. The two numbers on each card always add up to 37, creating a different value for each suit on the same card.

At the start of each round, deal the deck evenly among the players. The player who leads plays a card from their hand and chooses either black or white as the suit for that trick. Each other player then plays a card of their choice, and the player with the highest number in the chosen suit collects the trick.

After taking a trick, record whether it was won as a black trick or a white trick. The winner of each trick leads the next one, continuing until all cards have been played.

Scoring in Trick-Taking in Black and White rewards an even split. If you have taken the same number of black tricks and white tricks, you score positive points equal to the number of tricks collected. If the totals are not equal, you score negative points equal to the number of tricks collected.

After a certain number of rounds, the player with the highest score wins. With its two-number cards and unusual scoring condition, 白と黒でトリテ makes every trick count toward the balance between black and white.
