About this board game

LIE is a 30-card mini micro game for 2–6 players that takes about 20 minutes to play. Players bluff with selected numbers, bid on shared dice, and challenge opponents until only one player remains.

Each player begins with five cards. During a round, players choose which number on each card they will use, then select the dice they will bid and bluff with. This choice creates hidden information: everyone also knows which dice they did not use for the round.

On a turn, a player must either make a bid about how many of a certain die are shared among all players’ chosen dice or call the previous player’s bluff by saying “LIE!” The first player to bid in a round also decides which direction the bidding will proceed, adding another decision before the table starts raising the stakes.

• Choose the numbers on your cards for each round.
• Select which dice to use for bidding and bluffing.
• Track the hidden information created by the dice that were not used.
• Bid or challenge the previous player with “LIE!”

The loser of a round may draw back up to only four cards in the next round, while play continues until just one player remains. This card-limit consequence keeps each challenge meaningful as the game progresses.

Released in 2015, LIE is number 6 in the Pack O Game series and includes several variants. Its small card format combines bluffing, bidding, and concealed information in a quick game for groups of two to six.
