About this board game

Yomi 2: Road to Morningstar is a fighting card game for 1–2 players, with matches lasting around 30 minutes. Choose a character deck, augment that character with a gem, and face an opponent in a duel of prediction, timing, and card management.

Each turn, both players select a combat card in secret and reveal their choices simultaneously. Read the situation carefully: block high and low attacks, punish overly defensive play with throws, and extend successful attacks into combos of several cards.

Yomi 2 refines the original game with several new mechanics. Knockdowns create high-and-low mixups, while gaining the edge can speed up your attacks. Gems alter your character, giving you another way to shape your approach to each fight.

Before committing to a combat card, you can manipulate your hand in several ways. Power up for super moves, or exchange an unwanted card in your hand for a more desirable card from your discard pile. This system lets you work toward the hand you want while deciding how much to reveal through your plays.
