About this board game

Stonks is a stock market and trick-taking game for 2–5 players, played in about 45 minutes. Set in the Animalia Stock Exchange, it challenges investors to collect shares and finish with the most victory points.

Players compete in a series of tricks. One player leads by playing a card, and everyone else must follow suit. The highest card wins the trick, then its player chooses one of the cards played and places it in their wallet.

Every card features shares in one of the game’s companies. These shares provide victory points according to each company’s market value, making the cards collected during tricks an important part of an investor’s portfolio.

• Follow suit and compete to win each trick.
• Choose one played card to place in your wallet after winning.
• Use cards that can modify a company’s stock exchange rate.
• Raise or reduce company values to support your plans or disrupt opponents.

Company values can change during the game, so a share that looks useful at one moment may become more or less valuable later. Cards with special effects allow players to influence the stock exchange rate, either in their favor or against another investor’s plans.

With personalities ranging from confident bulls and cautious bears to ambitious sharks and suspicious wolves, the Animalia Stock Exchange provides a colorful setting for a contest of timing and valuation. When all cards have been used, players total their victory points. In Stonks, the investor with the highest score is the winner—and may be the one celebrating with both arms raised.
