Surrealist Dinner Party is a 2021 board game for 2–4 players that plays in about 50 minutes. Invite Surrealist artists and writers to your table, serve the food and drink they desire, and prove your hosting prowess while keeping the evening under control.

Every guest brings a unique habit, so seating arrangements matter. Pay close attention to who is sitting next to whom as guests socialize with their neighbors and react to the people around them. A carefully arranged table can keep your own guests happy—or create a little drama among your opponents’ guests.

On your turn, choose how to develop the party and respond to its changing demands:

• Bring new guests to the party.
• Serve food and drink.
• Have guests socialize with their neighbors.
• Send guests home at the right time.

The challenge is not simply inviting as many remarkable figures as possible. You must manage their desires, habits, and relationships while deciding when each guest has had enough of the gathering. Satisfying your own guests is important, but arranging the table so that your opponents’ guests begin causing drama can also work to your advantage.
