About this board game
Razzia is a 3–8 player gambling game with a playing time of about 30 minutes, in which players compete to finish with the most money. Six different but equal gambling joints receive money at the beginning of each round, setting the stage for simultaneous card play and tense contests over each pot.
Each player secretly chooses a card from their hand. Every card represents one of the six gambling joints and shows either a gambler or a cop. Once everyone has chosen, the cards are revealed together, and the action at each joint is resolved.
- If a gambler appears without a cop, the gambler receives the money.
- If both a gambler and a cop appear, the cop takes the money.
- If a cop appears but no gambler does, the money remains at the joint for the next round.
- When two gamblers or two cops claim the same money, negotiation determines what happens, sometimes with the help of a die.
The simultaneous choices make timing and reading your opponents essential. You need to place yourself in contention during the initial card reveal, but negotiation can decide whether you finish ahead of a rival or settle for second place.
With its combination of hidden selection, competing claims, and negotiation, Razzia rewards both clever positioning and persuasive play. The game comes in a small package approximately the size of a videotape, decorated in an eye-catching mid-1970s Gil Kane/Joe Giella DC Comics style.
