About this board game

Space Dragons is a trick-taking-ish card game for 3–5 players that plays in about 20 minutes. Across seven rounds, players assemble their crew, manage a spaceship in danger, and compete to become the most daring dragon hunter.

Each round, everyone plays a single card. The highest card played wins the current space dragon, or trick, bringing valuable points to its winner. However, choosing a card is never simply a race for the highest number.

Lower-value cards can provide strong effects that help you during the game, while high-value cards may carry harmful effects. You might capture a dragon, patch up the ship before it blows up, or activate shields to improve your crew’s mood and earn those final victory points.

Space dragons can score big, but some also display symbols that may cost you points during final scoring. This creates a careful balance between claiming valuable tricks and considering what those prizes could mean later.

With a compact play time and decisions packed into every card, Space Dragons challenges players to weigh immediate rewards against dangerous consequences. After seven rounds, the player with the most points wins the game.
