About this board game
27th Passenger: A Hunt on Rails is a hidden-identity game for 3–6 players that takes about 45 minutes to play. Set in 1920s New York City, it places a group of assassins aboard the train route from bustling Manhattan to quiet Staten Island.
Every player is disguised as someone beyond suspicion and has one goal: be the last one standing. The train becomes the setting for a secret contest where gathering information and reading the other passengers are essential to survival.
As the journey unfolds, you will try to identify your opponents while concealing your own identity. You can use scheming techniques to convince innocent passengers to stay on the train or get off, changing who remains around you as the hunt develops.
- Gather information to identify rival assassins.
- Persuade innocent passengers to stay or leave the train.
- Keep a low profile when someone appears to be following you.
- Draw your weapon to eliminate a suspected opponent.
Taking a shot is dangerous, however. Kill an innocent passenger and your game ends at the bottom of the Hudson River, so every suspicion carries a serious risk. Deciding when to act—and when to remain unnoticed—is central to the contest.
With its enclosed train setting, secret identities, and deadly deductions, 27th Passenger: A Hunt on Rails creates a tense ride from one station to the next. Will you expose your opponents, avoid a fatal mistake, and make it to the last station?
