About this board game

Air Mail is a strategy board game for 2–5 players, with games lasting about 75 minutes. Set in 1925 after the passage of the Air Mail Act, it casts players as aviation tycoons competing to establish and operate the first commercial airmail service.

Each player manages an airline company and aims to make the greatest profit. To do so, you must plot and extend routes by connecting the different divisions of the country, while using concession cards and requesting government subsidies.

One major source of revenue is transporting packages between divisions. The maximum distance your company can send a delivery depends on its technology level, which can be improved during the game. Longer-distance deliveries offer greater profit, making technological development an important part of building an effective and reliable operation.

  • Transport packages: Connect divisions and deliver goods over distances supported by your technology.
  • Follow Postal Service decrees: Pursue common objectives activated throughout the game.
  • Complete express deliveries: Gain the benefits of express deliveries you have successfully carried out at the end of the game.

Government incentives reward companies that can plan efficient routes and develop technology that supports more autonomous and reliable aircraft models. Every decision contributes to the larger race for profitable contracts and a successful airmail network.

With its focus on route building, technological improvement, deliveries, shared objectives, and profit, Air Mail offers a competitive take on the early days of commercial aviation. Build the network that can carry the most value and make your company the most profitable.
