Empires in America: The French and Indian War is a solitaire board game for one player, designed for approximately 25 minutes of play. Set during the French and Indian War from 1754 to 1762, it puts you in command of the beleaguered colony of New France.

As Britain and its American colonies press in from all sides, you must defend a vast frontier stretching from Halifax to the Ohio Valley. The conflict ranges from the fortress of Quebec to the Monongahela, with the future of French power in colonial North America at stake.

The game places a special focus on the era’s important military leaders. Montcalm, Wolfe, and a young George Washington establish their reputations as their fortunes rise and fall during campaigns across the frontier. Leaders command opposing armies, while each unit represents one British Army and each Leader commands several battalions.

Can the Montreal Militia and Algonquin Indians defeat General Braddock’s redcoats before they reach Fort Duquesne? Can the Troupes de la Marine stop Rogers’ Rangers at Fort Ticonderoga? The answers emerge through the game’s unfolding action and its Historique Event and History cards.

Alongside military operations, the struggle reaches across the Atlantic. The Royal Navy may sail up the St. Lawrence River to support operations against Quebec, while court intrigue at Versailles challenges the machinations of William Pitt the Elder. Every pressure contributes to the fight to defend Montreal.
