About this board game

Hercules is a mathematical dice game for 1–4 players, with a play time of about 45 minutes. Each player takes the role of an Apprentice of Hercules and races to complete the legendary Twelve Labours of the almighty warrior.

Every round begins with Consult the Oracle, when all players roll their dice simultaneously. During the action phase, players take their turns and choose whether to Perform a Labour or Rest, using mathematical operations to work with their dice results.

The game’s race structure is balanced by a scoring challenge. Reaching the final column first is not enough to secure victory: the winner is the player who earns the most victory points from cards, cubes, and bonuses gained through clever mathematical decisions.

  • Roll and calculate: Use dice results and mathematical operations to tackle the Labours.
  • Use divine powers: Demigod and Gods of Olympus cards can adjust dice results when their abilities permit.
  • Manage your resources: Spend cubes or flip cards face down to use these powerful abilities.
  • Race and score: Advance through the columns while building the highest-value collection of rewards.

After the action phase, Pegasus moves to the next player on the left, determining who begins the next round. The game ends when an Apprentice reaches Column 12; that player immediately takes the Zeus card, while any players who have not yet acted complete their turns so everyone has played equally.

In Hercules, timing, dice manipulation, and point scoring all matter. Finish the Labours, make the most of your cards and cubes, and aim to become the Apprentice with the most victory points.
