About this board game

Mount Everest is a strategic mountaineering game for 2–5 players, with games lasting about 90 minutes. First released in 2013, it challenges players to guide tourists to the summit of Earth’s highest mountain and safely return them to base.

Each player controls a team of two expert mountaineers and receives an identical deck of cards used to move around the board. Success depends on carefully planning the expedition: decide where to establish camps, how much oxygen to take toward the summit, and which clients to lead upward or back down the mountain.

Oxygen is essential because it allows players to gain acclimatization cards, which help tourists survive the climb. You must also choose the kind of clients to guide, from athletic and fairly competent climbers to wealthier, more prestigious amateurs. Taking one tourist is relatively manageable, but guiding larger groups can bring greater rewards—and a higher chance that something will go wrong.
